Today’s newsletter/podcast is an interview with Jonah Ray. You may Jonah from… well, a lot of things, actually. That was a theme in much of our chat—making something of yourself in our hellish gig economy. Because why have one big job when you can have 65 smaller gigs, baby! (Thanks, boomers!)
Jonah is an actor, a comedian, a musician, and, most importantly, a paid subscriber to REPLY ALT. He has been the host of the revived Mystery Science Theater, co-hosted The Meltdown with Kumail Nanjiani, hosted the podcast Jonah Raydio (on which I have been a guest), and once starred in a Bing commercial.
Jonah and I had a really good chat about trying to impress our parents with our “careers” in the arts (which we determined is a waste of time), growing up and going to punk shows in Hawaii, finding the backdoors to success, and his band in which he covers Weird Al songs.
